The purchase and the citizenship need separate checks
The price in a listing does not show that a property will support a citizenship application. According to the General Directorate of Population and Citizenship Affairs, citizenship through property requires buying property worth at least USD 400,000 and a three-year restriction on selling it. Meeting the investment condition does not in itself guarantee a positive decision.
What to ask your lawyer to do before you pay
Agree a review of the property itself, the seller's rights, applicable restrictions, proof of value and the payment documents. Explain that citizenship is the purpose of the purchase: ordinary help with registration should not be assumed to cover every citizenship condition.
The official Your Key Türkiye guidance describes the requirements for the type of property, proof of the investment amount and payments. For a specific transaction, the current requirements must be checked against the documents, not just against the stated price.
Split the work into stages
- Review of the buyer, the chosen property and the documents before any commitment to pay.
- Agreeing the contract, the banking steps and registration.
- Preparing proof of the investment and the documents for the relevant applications.
- Filing the applications and providing further documents when the authorities ask for them.
For each stage, confirm who does the work, which documents are needed and what depends on earlier steps. Preparation and review times vary; a promise to deliver a passport by a certain date is not a work plan.
Family, documents and your first enquiry
Give the nationalities of everyone involved, the family members, the country that issued the documents and any upcoming deadlines. Translation and certification requirements are decided after the situation has been reviewed. Please do not send passport or bank documents through the open form.
LP Legal handles cases throughout Türkiye. We first give you a short overview of the process, then hold an introductory meeting, and then agree the engagement, the working language and the fee.
